Macalester Graduate Designated Chief Judge Of U.S. District Court For Minnesota District
U.S. District Judge Michael J. Davis '69, has been designated Chief Judge of U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota as of July 1, 2008. Under federal law, the judge who is most senior in service within a district is designated as the chief judge and serves as the court's chief judicial officer for seven years. Judge Davis graduated from Macalester and the University of Minnesota Law School. In 2001, he received an Honorary Doctor of Laws Degree from Macalester.
