Why I chose Admissions and Financial Aid
Financial aid is often viewed as one of the most stressful parts of the college search process. I was a student at Macalester not too long ago and financial aid was always on my mind – would I be able to pay for the next semester? What did it mean to take out loans anyway? Now that I have answers to some of those kinds of questions, I want to help other Mac students complete their 4-year degrees with minimal financial stress.
Favorite time of the year at Mac
I love the campus in the fall! The physical space is picturesque and the students are full of energy and excitement for a new year.
Love about the Twin Cities
A plethora of cuisine options! You can find food from so many different places and cultures.
Community Involvement
Post graduation, I served as an AmeriCorps volunteer with CollegePoint through College Possible. CollegePoint is a non-profit near-peer model organization that serves high-achieving, low- and moderate-income students who usually had the idea that a private school was out of their reach and that their best option was the local state school. As a student I was a QuestBridge applicant so I worked closely with students in CollegePoint who were applying via QuestBridge (match and non-match applicants).
