Kun You is an Early China expert with a focus on early Chinese politico-philosophy, manuscript studies, and book history. He is also interested in intellectual history, literary theory, and critical theory. Currently, he is working on his first book project, based on his doctoral dissertation, “Types of Titles and Their Functionality in Early Chinese Textual Culture,” which provides a systematic classification of book and chapter titles in terms of their interpretive relevance for modern readers’ reading practice. 

He received his B.A. from Sun Yat-sen University, M.A. from the University of Macau, and Ph.D. from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
