Lin Aanonsen

Neurobiology, pharmacology, and human physiology
Professor Aanonsen’s research focuses on spinal mechanisms by which chronic pain is transmitted and induced. She involves students in every aspect of her research and accompanies them to meetings of the Society of Neuroscience where they present their work. Aanonsen teaches Cell Biology, one of the courses in the Department’s core sequence, as well as courses in neurobiology, human physiology, and pharmacology. She chairs the Health Professions Advisory Committee, and most recently was awarded the 2003 Teaching Award for Macalester. In her spare time she loves to garden and play with her two Westies, Cassie and Katie.
