We invite you to gather with alumni for a reception with Macalester College President Dr. Suzanne M. Rivera.

This gathering is an opportunity to connect with other alumni, parents, and friends, have a question and answer session with President Rivera, and hear about the college's strategic initiatives. Refreshments and hors d'oeuvres provided.

We are also excited to have Heidi Affi ’17, Director of Development for Bees & Refugees share information about the local organization.
Bees & Refugees was founded in 2020, bringing the therapeutic effects of beekeeping to fellow refugees suffering from the trauma and destruction witnessed in their homeland and struggling to settle into their adopted country. Beekeeping provides individuals experiencing anxiety, depression and PTSD with a therapeutic outlet and a sense of place in a new community. Bees & Refugees provides a critical service that holistically meets the needs of refugees and the environment alike. By introducing traditional beekeeping as a craft and therapy to refugee communities, Bees & Refugees fills the gap of therapeutic and integration services usually inaccessible to vulnerable communities while improving key biodiversity restoration in London’s ecosystem. Click here to learn more and support Bees & Refugees.
