The International & Local Dimensions of the Ongoing Global Food Crisis: A Panel Discussion
Global food prices peaked in March earlier this year, reaching levels not seen since 2007-2008. Fueled by conflict, climate change, energy price hikes, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the War in Ukraine, the global food system has proven to be increasingly unstable and vulnerable to shocks. Today some 828 million people face moderate to severe food insecurity, a figure that has risen steadily since 2014. This panel discussion explores the roots of the current crisis, its dynamics in the US and other countries, as well as the alternatives for moving forward. Please join us for this unique event.
