Allyship and its Limits: African Americans in East Germany

Dr. Jamele Watkins from the University of MN will give a talk entitled Allyship and its Limits: African Americans in East Germany. How have African Americans understood their experiences with race outside of the US? In this lecture Watkins will explore how and why African Americans have used their experiences in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland to criticize racism in the US.
