Dr. Jenn Smith integrates social network data from long-term field studies and the tools of comparative social evolution to uncover the extent to which mammalian social decisions vary with ecological context and evolutionary history. Her talk will draw from these diverse perspectives to reveal the rules governing: (i) consistent individual variation in behavior and (ii) collective decisions of across mammalian societies to reveal drivers of cooperation.
