Curating Cinema's First Nasty Women
For the first MCST lunch hour talk of the year, we will be welcoming Associate Professor Maggie Hennefeld from the Cultural Studies and Comparative Literature department at the University of Minnesota for a talk titled "Curating Cinema's First Nasty Women." It will address her incredible work recovering the history of women in early cinema and developing a curated DVD/Blu-ray set highlighting the work of silent-era comediennes. Maggie will also explore the trajectory of the collaborative project and its resonances for feminist & film cultures today.
Lunch will be provided.
