Professor Amy Elkins's Book Launch

You’re invited to celebrate Professor Amy Elkins’s book, Crafting Feminism from Literary Modernism to the Multimedia Present (Oxford University Press, 2022) on Friday, Sept. 22 from 5-6pm in Smail Gallery (Olin-Rice, first floor). She’ll talk about her research in modernist and contemporary literature, visual studies, and queer theory. How is intergenerational handiwork a form of resistance? How does craft decenter patriarchal and Eurocentric legacies of artistic authority? And how have some of your favorite writers (from Virginia Woolf to Zadie Smith) engaged with craft as queer praxis? All are welcome to attend; masks encouraged.
