At the AAUP meeting on Thursday, February 1 at 4:45pm in the Weyerhaeuser Boardroom, Dr. Julia Schleck will speak about the close links between academic freedom and the role of higher education in American society. She will challenge the definition of it as “a common good,” proposing new ways to conceptualize the value of colleges and universities to our communities at a moment of extreme political division and economic inequality.
