Ash Wednesday: A Loving Journey

Ash Wednesday is a ritual day in the Christian calendar that launches the forty days of Lent. This day centers the ritual of being marked with ash - a sign of humility - borne by humans, who are finite. It is not a sacrament, but a sign of faith. Those who hunger for a start to the lent season are invited to Macalester’s Ash Wednesday service at 5 p.m. in Weyerhaeuser Chapel on Wednesday, Feb. 14, which will be led by Rev. Kelly J. Stone. The welcome is wide for those interested in this ritual.
