Capoeira

We, Adelante board members, are happy to invite you to our first Capoeira event which will take place on April 11th at 5 PM @ Kagin Ballroom!

What is Capoeira?

Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian cultural tradition - a martial art disguised as dance. In Brazil, enslaved African people used capoeira to fight to escape and resist capture, but concealed its combative purpose through music, song, and dance.

What to expect from the event?

Instructors from the organization Capoeira Minnesota will join us for a performance followed by a workshop on how to fight/dance capoeira! After the workshop, we will eat delicious Brazilian food!
