Event Details

All students, faculty, and staff are invited to gather on Thursday, September 5 at the Leonard Center Field House for Opening Convocation where we will celebrate the start of our academic year and welcome the incoming Class of 2028, as well as new faculty and staff. Doors open at 11 a.m. and the program begins promptly at 11:30 a.m.

The Honorable Andrew Gordon ‘05 of the Second Judicial District Court of Minnesota will provide the keynote address. We will also receive welcomes from President Suzanne M. Rivera; Executive Vice President and Provost Lisa Anderson-Levy; and and Joel Sadofsky ’25, MCSG president.

Faculty are encouraged to wear their academic regalia and sit together with their departments. The library, ITS help desk, and Leonard Center fitness facilities will be closed during this event.

Following Opening Convocation's program, join us on Shaw Field for the Sesquicentennial Community MacFe[a]st, a picnic lunch with a 150th twist featuring swag, sweet treats, and more!
