Art for Community Care: Student Art and Social Hour
Hosted by the Art & Art History Dept & LWG with special guest artist Meghan Irwin.
In this time of heightened emotions and reflection, students are invited to process and express thoughts and feelings through art and conversation. Along with the insights of art faculty, staff, and guest artist Meghan Irwin, Mickey Smith’s Morphologies work and the source material of her Platform I, 2024 will be our starting point. We’ll create posters, buttons, and collages, transforming pages from bound periodicals and journals into personal statements of resilience, solidarity, humor, and care.
Extra special guest appearance by our retired racing greyhound friend MAGPIE, 3-4 pm. No artmaking experience required, supplies and sweets provided.
