First Year Panel on Thriving at Macalester/College: What is College For? How Do I Do it Well?
First Years: You are welcome to the second in a series of presentations associated with INTD 111: Thriving at Macalester/College, Wednesday, February 5, 7-8 p.m. in Theater 201. This week's speaker is Sedric McClure, Co-Director of the Community Engagement Center and Associate Dean of the Kofi Annan Institute for Global Citizenship, who writes "Let's explore the joy, dynamics, and opportunities afforded those pursuing a liberal arts education. Beyond its economic value, education is foundational for leading a purposeful driven life. What are the skills, resources, and processes one must be aware of to encourage students to engage in a course of study, not simply studying in courses? It would be helpful to think about creating a diverse support network of students, faculty, and staff in order to weave those curricular and co-curricular aspirations into a seamless refinement of your most cherished beliefs and fundamental goals."
