Shrove Tuesday Bonfire Ritual
The season of Lent in the Christian tradition marks the forty days leading up to Easter, mirroring the forty days that Jesus spent in the wilderness. Many Chrisitans begin the season of Lent by marking Shrove Tuesday (also known as Pancake Tuesday or Mardi Gras) by feasting before a season that has traditionally included fasting. Those who observe or are curious about Shrove Tuesday and intentionally engaging the Lenten season are welcome to attend a pancake dinner at Cafe Mac at 6:15pm on Tuesday, March 4th. A brief ritual will follow at 7:15pm at the CRSL. Meals will be provided for those not on the meal plan. Please RSVP here. Meet at Conference Room 230 to receive a meal ticket and to join us!
