DojoExplore Seminar 3: Intellectual Property and Technical Moat

Are you interested in law or biotech or business? Or the intersection of them all?

The third part in a 5-part series, Nucleate DojoExplore presents this seminar with  Deb Miedema and Chris Ghere. They will discuss biotech commercialization from their years of experience helping spinout companies at the University of Minnesota, and will focus on the concepts of intellectual property (IP), technology transfer offices (TTOs), and patents.

Who are the speakers? Deb Miedema is a member of the MIN-Corps team at the University of Minnesota, where she supports graduate students, post-docs, research scientists, and faculty throughout the entire innovation commercialization lifecycle. She helps emerging companies transform their ideas into real-world impact. Before joining the University of Minnesota's Holmes Center for Entrepreneurship, Deb spent over 20 years managing intellectual property, market analysis, and competitive intelligence at companies such as Google and Fish & Richardson.

Chris Ghere works with scientific researchers and entrepreneurs to launch deep tech startup companies based on inventions developed from the University of Minnesota research enterprise.  He has an M.B.A. from the University of Minnesota and over 20+ years of experience bringing early-stage companies to market. Chris previously co-founded a startup of his own, was an engineering lead in another, and managed the University of Minnesota's software, artificial intelligence, and robotics intellectual property portfolio.

Registration is required, and dinner will be provided for registered guests. If you are interested, please register here: https://tinyurl.com/28ppe2j6
