Stage to Screen Production "Fragment"

All are invited to see a stage-to-screen production of the play Fragment by the internationally acclaimed stage director Dmitry Krymov. The performance was filmed before a live audience at the Klaipeda Drama Theatre in Lithuania. Presented in Lithuanian with English and Russian subtitles.

Krymov emigrated from Russia to the U.S. in February 2022 after condemning Russia’s war against Ukraine. He settled in New York City, where he established Krymov Lab NYC. In recent years Krymov has been profiled in the New York Times and the New Yorker magazine. Fragment, inspired by a scene of a fire in Anton Chekhov Three Sisters, is an experimental play drifting between comedy and tragedy.

This film screening is part of the Artists in Exile series by Art Seen Films, an intercultural project that brings filmed theater performances to venues across the globe.
