First Year Panel on Thriving at Macalester/College: What are grades? How should I measure success?

First years: You are welcome to this week’s presentation associated with INTD 111: Thriving at Macalester/College, for which our guest speakers will be Ian Wanger '25 and Katie Kelly, Assistant Dean for Academic Programs and Advising. Together we’ll be addressing such questions as: What does a B on a paper mean? What are grading options? Why might students withdraw from courses and what are the consequences? How do folks make a comeback from a rough week, month or semester? When does my GPA matter, and what are other measures of success?
