Dialogue Across Differences: How to Talk to the 'Other Side' - Finding Ground in a Time of Political Polarization and Climate Change

Dialogue Across Differences Speaker Event: How to Talk to the 'Other Side' - Finding ground in a time of political polarization and climate change

When: Monday April 28th at 5:00 p.m.

Where: Library Room 250

Join Macalester alumni, author, and consultant Kevin Wilhelm '95 for an evening presentation about dialogue across differences. During his talk, Kevin will address head-on how to talk to the "other side", and will provide practical and inspirational tips for finding common ground to move forward on key issues with people who may have differing viewpoints. The talk will touch on real-world situations where people went from yelling at one another in disagreement to finding win-win solutions that provided everyone with hope. During this polarized time, this presentation aims to equip students, faculty, staff with resources that will help them engage in difficult discussions and approach wicked challenges such as climate change and inequality with a renewed sense of hope.

Refreshments will be provided.

Students, faculty and staff will also have the opportunity to obtain a free copy of Kevin’s Book How to talk to the other side: Finding Common Ground in a Time of Coronavirus, Recession and Climate Change, and sign up for a book discussion group.
