Brown Bag Alumni Talk on Food and Farming: "Growing Community, Building Trust, Embracing Change"

Alex McKiernan '01 left Macalester with a Geology degree and a plan for graduate school, but 10 years later, ended up on a vegetable farm in Nebraska.  Alex and his wife, Chloe Diegel '03, own and operate Robinette Farms outside of Lincoln, NE where they grow food for their Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program, farmers' markets, local restaurants and grocery stores. Alex's path after Macalester was a winding one, but gave him the tools to pursue a broader goal: Growing Community, Building Trust, and Embracing Change.  Hear about his journey, the realities of small scale food production and sales, and some perspective on addressing global challenges through relationships and community building.
