Michael Fienen ‘93, Ph D, research hydrologist, deputy director (acting), Integrated Modeling and Prediction Division, United States Geological Survey, Upper Midwest Water Science Center, will speak on "Potatoes and Trout: Groundwater Model Optimization to Balance Agricultural and Ecosystem Stakeholder Needs in the Little Plover River Basin, Wisconsin, USA."
After Mike’s presentation on “Potatoes and Trout: Groundwater Model Optimization,” he will talk about career opportunities within the USGS. The USGS is not just about geology; it has offices in every state and more than 8,500 employees. The USGS employs a wide variety of scientists in the fields of geology, hydrology, ecology, biology, chemistry and geography/cartography. Mike will be happy to answer questions following his talk.
