The LGBTQIA+ community has a limited historical record which makes it difficult for younger members, particularly queers of color and transgender people, to find history and form connections with our ancestors. Join panelists Andrea Jenkins, Zaylore Stout, and Noam Sienna as they reflect on how they were able to establish these connections and reflect on the importance of preserving history for queer people to connect with, learn from, and be inspired by. About Our Panelists:
- Andrea Jenkins: A writer, performance artist, poet, and transgender activist, Andrea is a Minneapolis City Council Member and the previous curator of the Transgender Oral History Project organized by the Tretter Collection at the University Of Minnesota.
- Zaylore Stout: A fierce advocate on LGBTQ issues who founded Zaylore Stout & Associates, a law firm that focuses on equality, justice and access, Zaylore is the author ofOur Gay History in 50 States.
- Noam Sienna: A Jewish educator, artist, and doctoral candidate in Jewish History and Museum Studies at the University of Minnesota, Noam recently publishedA Rainbow Thread, an anthology of queer Jewish texts.
