Meanwhile...: A Conversation with Kadin Henningsen and Penelope Geng

A casual Q/A featuring Professor Penelope Geng and Kadin Henningsen, PhD Student and co-founder of Meanwhile… Letterpress on the opportunities and challenges of working at a renowned non-profit institution, on transgender studies and activism, and on academia's less traveled roads. All are invited to join us.


Kadin Henningsen is a PhD student in the Department of English at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he works on transgender studies and nineteenth-century American literature and print culture. He has published in Library Trends, Medieval Feminist Forum, and the Global Encyclopedia of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) History (edited by Howard Chiang). He is also the owner and co-founder of Meanwhile…Letterpress, a trans owned and operated letterpress collaborative fighting trans and intersex erasure through print culture. 


Penelope Geng is assistant professor of English specializing in Shakespeare and early modern drama.
