First Thursdays Humanities Career Workshop session #2, How to Apply to Graduate School is on Thursday, November 7, 4:45-6:15 in the Harmon Room.


This session is led by Professors Masha Fedorova, Naomi Sussman & Matt Burgess and will explore: Should you apply to an academic MA/PhD program or a creative writing MFA program? If so, should you take time off to do other things first? Where and how should you apply?


This session will help you:


• Think through whether graduate school is the right choice for you


• Assemble criteria to help you choose programs that are a good fit for your interests and goals


• Understand what the application process looks like


• Learn how to approach faculty for recommendations


• Identify strategies to make your application as strong as possible including how to choose and revise the crucial writing sample.


All students in the Humanities are invited. Soup supper.
