Solidarity Tuesdays
Join us this Tuesday, September 22nd from 5:00 to 6:30 PM CST, for our first ever Solidarity Tuesday gathering! STs are non-formalized classrooms focused on raising critical consciousness of the Macalester BIPOC community. This space allows BIPOC folks to engage in intentional dialogue on various topics impacting our local and global community, with the goal of defining praxis in order to work towards our collective liberation.
The purpose of this first ST is to create an intentional space for the Macalester BIPOC community to critically reflect about how our positionalities on campus construct our relationship to the institution. While we all have our own visions of what transformative change could look like at Macalester, the work of organizing often falls upon students, specifically marginalized students. Such change can only truly be enacted by thinking and acting within a collective. This ST aims to clarify understandings of our roles at Macalester as well as deepen our relations to one another.
