MacSlams is hosting our first slam of the semester from 7-9 p.m! If you’ve never been to a poetry slam, they’re super fun and a great chance to build community! We’ll start with an open mic, where anyone can perform a piece (maximum of five minutes, and it doesn’t have to be poetry). If you want to participate in the competitive slam, bring two poems (max three minutes each).
In between the two rounds, we’ve invited the fantastic poet Porsha Olayiwola to feature! Porsha is a nationally-acclaimed author, whose book i shimmer sometimes, too is forthcoming with Button Poetry.
