Letter The Players:
Our evil arch nemesis, Mr. E, has come out of hiding and is at it again. This time he has abducted one of our own. Last night, Detective John Axley was reported missing and his life is in imminent danger. Mr. E has left a bread crumb trail of clues scattered across the internet and within the confines of Detective Axley’s desk for you to piece together in order to solve this crime and save Axley’s life. As is the case with all of Mr. E’s hijinks, there’s a catch: Intelligence indicates there’s a bomb on the premises. This case is simple: uncover and decipher the clues, find and diffuse the bomb and locate Detective Axley within sixty minutes.
Detective Wilder is eager to solve this case and save his longtime partner, so the last thing he needs right now is a bunch of helping hands barking orders at him. Therefore, your team will decide amongst yourselves who will be the Lead Detective. You will communicate with your team via a live video chat feed and your Lead Detective will communicate directly with Detective Wilder. Once a Lead has been determined, that Detective will change their screen name to “Lead Detective” for the duration of the investigation.
I don’t need to lecture you on the importance of communication in our line of work. If any Detectives find a clue, they must bring it to the attention of the Lead Detective. Detective Wilder has the technology available to share it with the group via our exclusive online “Clues Folder.” This folder will be accessible to all Detectives via a predetermined QR code. Wilder has razor sharp instincts and he’ll be the first to tell you if you're suggesting a move he doesn’t think is best.
All Detectives should have a smartphone or tablet ready as some clues will require you
to visit websites, social media sources and do some first-class Detective research but don’tworry, you won’t be required to sign up for any accounts or subscribe to any feeds.
Look for anything suspicious and pay attention to every detail. If there’s one thing we know about Detective John Axley its that he was very meticulous about his desk - he never so much as left a candy wrapper or crumpled ball of paper sitting around.
