AAPI/Pride Month Event with Hmong Fashion Designer Ka Ly
Join the Department of Multicultural Life on Wednesday, April 21 from 5:00 - 6:30 pm CST for a conversation on Designing for Cultural Change and Community Futures with artist and cultural producer, Ka Oskar Ly. Ka Oskar Ly is a queer Hmoob (Hmong) French American artist and cultural producer rooted in creating social change. Ly draws on their identities, lived experiences, and various communities to redefine Hmoob and queer aesthetics, cultural innovation, and community futures. They have transformed campaigns through fashion and art collections, cultural events and experiences, and public space installations and murals to raise awareness of equity and visibility particularly on gender, LGBTQIA+, and race.
