We hope to see you at the Founding Day Celebration on March 4! Founding Day is an annual community-wide celebration of Macalester’s history and the official birthday of the College. This year will include a unique adventure campus-wide scavenger hunt highlighting different areas across campus, bouts of Pushball on the Great Lawn in the afternoon, and an early evening kickback on Bateman Plaza with food, beverage, and celebration for all. 

Scavenger Hunt: Begins at 2:30pm. Students can pre-register for the Scavenger Hunt with a team of up to 6 people. Walk-in registrations accepted the day-of on the Campus Center 2nd Floor Atrium. Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams: 1st place - $50 gift cards for each team member, 2nd place - $25 gift cards for each team member, 3rd place - $10 gift cards for each team member - students will get to pick the business/location for all prizes. 

Food, Beverage, Music, and More: 3pm - 6pm on Bateman Plaza just outside of the Campus Center. Come join us for cupcakes, hot chocolate, giveaways, and some tunes. The heaters will be back on the plaza in case it gets a little chilly! 

Pushball: 4:30pm - 6pm on The Great Lawn. Come join this classic Mac tradition - you can get in on the game or cheer along your pals from the sidelines. Join a team, line up on the goal lines, and at the sound of the whistle, you'll rush to the huge ball (6 feet in diameter for reference) and try to push it into the opponent's goal line.
