Job and Internship Fair FAQ
Is this fair for me?
The MN Private Colleges Job & Internship Fair focuses on Minnesota organizations, so if you’re looking for an internship or planning to stay in the area, attend the fair. Industries that are well represented at the fair are business, government, social services, and healthcare.
What employers will be there?
Review the list of organizations attending. Here, you can find out if they will be collecting resumes or interviewing on-site, have openings or are currently recruiting for positions.
Will employers hire international students?
Yes. Filter the list of employers attending by choosing “Hires Under OPT/CPT”.
My dream employer is attending! What should I do?
First, have your application materials reviewed by a Career Exploration staff member. Send a cover letter and resume (PDF) and let them know you’ll be attending Minnesota’s Private College Job & Internship Fair. Ask to be interviewed during the Fair. Employers will contact you directly to schedule.
What can I do to prepare?
- Update your LinkedIn profile. Stop into Career Exploration for an updated headshot.
- Practice your 2-minute introduction.

What should I wear? Do I really need a suit?
Dress should be professional but you don’t need a suit. You are showing the employer that you know how to present yourself. You want to be remembered for your skills and professionalism — not for your appearance.
