Ronald Brisbois

Professor of Chemistry
Organic Chemistry and Synthesis

Olin-Rice Science Center, 315
651-696-6270

Ronald Brisbois specializes in organic chemistry and synthesis, with an emphasis on student-faculty collaborative research projects leveraging the power of chemical synthesis to innovate known reactions, invent new reactions, and construct previously unknown molecules. The reaction protocols developed by Professor Brisbois and his students serve as molecular tools that other chemists can use to prepare molecular scaffolds useful as pharmaceuticals or as components in materials science. The target molecules constructed by Professor Brisbois and his students illustrate the applicability of their reaction protocols, feature potentially useful biological activity, exhibit novel light-emitting properties, serve as starting points for sensor design, and provide fundamental insights on molecular self- assembly.
