ellipsis
An ellipsis consists of three consecutive spaced periods. (13.50)
em dash
Do not add spaces around an em dash (—): He knew—or thought he knew—he was right.
en dash
Do not use spaces around an en dash (–). She took the London–Paris train.
Use for date or number ranges: 1979–83, chapters 2–4.
Do not use when preceded by a preposition; use another preposition instead. Incorrect: He attended Macalester from 2000–2004. Correct: He attended Macalester from 2000 to 2004.
Use to indicate scores: The Scots won 10–7.
Use when indicating campus locations: She attended the University of Nevada–Reno.
Do not hyphenate. But do hyphenate e-book, e-commerce.
