Movie Viewing and Flag Event: Monsters University – Stereotyping & Identity Discussion
Co-Sponsored by the Office of Institutional Equity

Join us on Thursday, April 3, from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM for a Red Flag/Green Flag Movie Screening! As we watch Monsters University, participants will be given flags to raise whenever the characters participate in a behavior that could be a red flag or a green flag in a relationship. This event aims to promote awareness and education about healthy relationship dynamics and identifying warning signs of potentially harmful behaviors through the lens of contemporary media.

Pizza will be served!!

Presentation/ Panel Discussion: Curing the Student Body: How K-12 Schools Perpetuate Cure Ideology

Co-Sponsored by the Educational Studies Department

Join us for a presentation by Educational Studies student Ashton Rose, who will discuss Cure Ideology, what it is, the impact on students and some examples of how schools pass this ideology on to students. Afterward there will be an open discussion with Ashton, CDR Director Shammah Bermudez, Women’s, Gender and Sexual Studies Associate Professor Myrl Beam, and Educational Studies Associate Professor and Department Chair.
