MacBike
Mac Bike focuses on teaching riders how to repair their bikes, planning rides through the greater Twin Cities, and working to increase bike advocacy. This organization maintains the bike workshop located next to the Mac Weekly office. Mac Bike feels bike use is important as a way to limit pollution while having fun and getting where you need to go. [email protected]
Green@Mac
Green@Mac (formally MacCARES/MULCH) aims to promote all aspects of holistic sustainability and urban gardening. We help seed and harvest the college’s MULCH garden (located near the Spanish Language House), grow plants in the OLRI Ruth Stricker Dayton greenhouse, and engage in community service and educational campus events. No experience in gardening or knowledge of sustainability is necessary!
The Mac Weekly
The Mac Weekly serves as a source of information for the college, a forum for debate within the community, and a training ground for students who wish to gain experience in journalism. [email protected]
Outing Club
Adventure in the great outdoors. That’s what the Outing Club offers through inexpensive trips, reasonable gear rental and expedition planning assistance. Get in contact with the environment and learn to appreciate the earth. [email protected]
Sustainability Advisory Committee
The mission of the Sustainability Advisory Committee is to oversee the implementation of the American College and University Presidents Climate Commitment and the Talloires Declaration. The committee will also recommend policies and practices which best reflect College’s commitment to an environmentally sustainable world. In addition, the committee will function as a conduit for information exchange about campus sustainability initiatives. [email protected]
