Institutional Equity Timeline

Newly established in 2022, the Institutional Equity division is in a period of exploration, discovery, and building. We will use the 2022–23 academic year to establish a strong foundation and partnerships across campus, and with the broader Macalester and Twin Cities community. During this academic year, we will also create an equity action plan that will be released in spring 2023. At that time, this webpage will pivot to focus on the equity action plan to foster transparency and accountability.

Fall 2022 

  • Search for Dean for Institutional Equity
  • Search for Associate Director of the CRSL and Muslim Chaplain
  • Search for Assistant Director of the DML
  • Partner with Institutional Research and Assessment to review climate study data and develop equity action plan
  • Establish Racial Justice Project Fund and develop annual process for proposals and awarding

Spring 2023

  • Continue to develop equity action plan
  • Establish Equity Advisory Committee
  • Search for Equity Specialist
  • Expand equity and justice resource website
  • By May 2023: Share equity action plan
