2019 Senior Thesis Exhibition

In their Senior Thesis exhibition, Macalester College’s 2019 Art Majors showcase projects which find common thematic ground in their engagement with what is familiar, and with an interrogation or destabilization of that familiarity. Projects include investigations on interiority and exteriority, as they relate to race, trauma, and being; the fluidity of identity; moments of intimacy and personal growth; mental health and making; human influence on nature; places of comfort and images of discomfort. “Kinshift” is an ambiguity of “kinship,” and captures the complexity and change of relation.
