Partnerships and Belonging

KAIGC resonates with the central tenet of Othering and Belonging Institute: it is possible to build a world where everybody belongs, without othering.

We set a clear intention to decolonize collaboration, defining Critical Global Engagement as a framework that acknowledges local/global interconnections, invites reflection on power structures and positionalities, and engages across intersectional differences to impact social change.

Grounded in these ideas, KAIGC builds multiple, interconnected communities both within and beyond Macalester.

Mechanisms of Internal partnerships

  • KAIGC Co-sponsorships supports campus partners in implementing projects that aligns with KAIGC’s purpose and priorities.
  • KAIGC Liaisons from both academic departments and other campus partners meet once a semester to learn about KAIGC’s initiatives and share information and resources that facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration and community building.
