Global Citizenship Student Award

The Global Citizenship Student Award (GCSA) is presented every April by Macalester College and the Kofi Annan Institute for Global Citizenship to the graduating seniors who best demonstrates a commitment to the ideals and practice of high academic performance, internationalism, multiculturalism, and civic engagement. This may be demonstrated through student work in a broad range of majors and disciplines, and the selection committee hopes the applicant pool will reflect diverse representation from the Humanities, Sciences, Fine Arts, and Social Sciences. Candidates must be nominated by a Macalester faculty or staff member. However, students who feel they are strong candidates may approach a faculty or staff to discuss their interest and request a nomination for the award.
Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship Program

Established in 1988 by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship Program aims to increase the number of students from underrepresented groups, and others with a demonstrated commitment to diversifying the academy, who will pursue a Ph.D. and enter the professoriate in selected core fields. Each year Macalester College selects up to five talented sophomores to participate in the program.
Davis Projects for Peace

Davis Projects for Peace is an initiative for all students at the Davis United World College Scholars Program partner schools to design their own grassroots projects for peace that they themselves will implement anywhere in the world. Through a nationwide competition, projects are selected for funding at $10,000 each and completed during the summer.
