Rites of Passage

Rites of Passage is an annual ceremony hosted by the Lealtad-Suzuki Center for Social Justice, which centers, recognizes, and honors the contributions of Macalester’s BIPOC graduating students and their families and friends. Typically held the day before Macalester’s main Commencement ceremony, Rites of Passage includes the bestowing of a ceremonial stole, speakers and musical performances, and an opportunity for graduates, families, and friends to celebrate this important milestone in community.
