Katie Thornton

Katie Thornton an award-winning audio and print longform journalist, whose historically informed narrative work has appeared in/on 99% Invisible, The BBC, National Public Radio, WNYC, The Guardian, The Atlantic, Rolling Stone, The Washington Post, Bloomberg’s CityLab, National Geographic, and many more. In 2023, she won broadcasting’s highest honor, a Peabody Award, for her podcast series “The Divided Dial,” which she produced with WNYC’s program “On the Media.” She has also been honored as Fulbright-National Geographic Digital Storytelling Fellow, a returning reviewer for the National Endowment for the Humanities’ media grants, and has been awarded multiple reporting grants from the Fund for Investigative Journalism.
