Professor Grinde’s research interests fall into the realms of statistical genetics and biostatistics. Most recently, her work has focused on developing statistical methods for genetic studies in populations with mixed, diverse ancestry. Professor Grinde teaches classes ranging across all levels of our undergraduate statistics curriculum, from introductory statistics to upper-level statistical theory. She loves helping students discover how useful it is to be able to understand and think critically about data, regardless of their academic interests or career paths. Outside of work, you’ll find Professor Grinde biking, hiking, watching soccer, or eating (but not cooking) good food.
