Professor Schneider was on the faculty from 1982 to 2007, including 15 years as coordinator of Computer Science and six years as department chair. He taught courses on Scientific Computation, Computer Organization, Operating Systems, Parallel Computing, and Computer Networks, and published numerous research papers in the area of distributed computation. He is the author of seven textbooks, including Invitation to Computer Science and Advanced Concepts in Software Design and Development, and was the recipient of four Fulbright Grants to teach and do research in Mauritius (1995), Malaysia (2001), Nepal (2004), and Mongolia (2006).
