The BIPOC Student Coalition is a cohort of student representatives from Macalester’s Black, Indigenous, Latinx, and Asian/Pacific Islander cultural student organizations. Established in the summer of 2021, the goal of the BIPOC Student Coalition is to recognize and celebrate the history and impact of cultural student organizations at Macalester College and to ensure the longevity of those organizations.
The BIPOC Student Coalition provides student leaders the space to build community, define their organizational purpose, and organize for change. Gatherings include an overnight retreat in the fall, semi-structured work time, and workshops on budgeting and leadership. The Coalition also provides cultural organizations the space and opportunity to collaborate on programming and facilitate discussions on campus issues.
