Mike Vasich
Piano (Jazz)
Mike Vasich grew up in Illinois, and moved to the Twin Cities in 2001 to attend Macalester College where he studied jazz and classical piano, musicology, and composition. After graduating in 2005, he furthered my piano studies by studying gospel music with Rev. Carl Walker of Walker West Music Academy in St. Paul, and eventually went on to attain a Master’s of Arts in Teaching and a licensure in K-12 Music from University of St. Thomas in 2014.
Mike has been making music as a keyboardist with many different groups over the years including Orange Mighty Trio, Wild Lyre, Over/Under, House on Fire Band, The Real Chuck NORAD, Current Physique, and many more. He also produces electronic music and arrange and write music for all types of ensembles. He is currently the chair of the music department at St. Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists, and music director of First Unitarian Society in Minneapolis. Aside from this work, he spends his days enjoying all Minnesota has to offer with his partner, Molly and their two children.
