Welcome to Macalester!

Although only one member of your family is starting their Macalester experience this fall, we realize that you are an important part of the journey. We look forward to partnering with you in the coming years as, together, we support your college student.

While your student is embarking on a new chapter in their life coming to Macalester, parents and family members are also experiencing a significant time of transition. We have created a special set of programming just for you. Orientation for parents and families of new students will be a hybrid of online pre-orientation and in-person sessions. Throughout the sessions listed in the Parent and Families Orientation Schedule, parents and family members will hear more about the Macalester campus, hear from Macalester faculty and staff, understand the resources available to your student, and learn how to best support your student in their time of transition to College life.
