Amy Ihlan

Amy Ihlan is a graduate of Macalester College and Harvard Law School, and
has a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Minnesota. In addition to the
many courses she has taught as a visiting professor at Macalester, she has also
served as an assistant professor in the School of Business and Leadership at St.
Catherine University, teaching ethics in the Master of Arts in Organizational
Leadership program.
Amy served as a City Council Member in Roseville, a suburb of the Twin Cities.
Ms. Ihlan began her legal career at Dorsey & Whitney before joining Briol
& Benson (formerly Briol & Associates) in June 1998. Her law practice has
focused on securities arbitration, minority shareholder and commercial
litigation, and advising securities brokers and investment advisers on
compliance and regulatory issues. Ms. Ihlan is a qualified neutral mediator and
arbitrator, and is very interested in alternative dispute resolution in addition to
law and philosophy.
