The only way I could think of to visually demonstrate my essay writing is with the attached photo of me with literary journals and anthologies in which my essays have been published. One journal, Crab Orchard Review at Southern Illinois University, awarded me a literary nonfiction prize for my essay, “Flight from Hungary,” about my family’s escape from the country after WWII. The essay is the basis of my book-length memoir, Becoming Hungarian, which is slated to be published She Writes Press, a hybrid publisher of female authors, in 2021.

During the 80’s and early 90’s, I was a horse and dog show and farm photographer. I still enjoy photography on a casual basis, however, when photography changed from film to digital, I didn’t.
