Construction Season

  • Construction around Campus

Grand Avenue between Snelling Avenue and Fairview Avenue will be rebuilt during the late spring and summer of 2025. This will be a large project that will include replacing some of the utility infrastructure below the street, removing the old underlayment and trolley tracks and also addressing crossings and sidewalks. We anticipate Grand Avenue will be closed to vehicles between Snelling Avenue and Fairview Avenue during Reunion, and vehicle access across Grand Avenue at Macalester Street or Cambridge Street may also be restricted or closed. Further, access to campus parking lots on the west side of campus may only be accessible via St. Clair Avenue or Fairview Avenue through the side streets. Snelling will remain open for vehicles and pedestrians to cross Grand.

Accessibility Accommodations

  • If you have any accessibility needs that you might not have shared with us yet please send an email to [email protected] or stop by Registration in the Janet Wallace Fine Arts Center, Lowe Dayton Arts Commons. We do our best to accommodate accessibility needs, but being aware of them in advance of the weekend allows us more time to prepare.

Reunion events will be held in wheelchair accessible spaces, and all buildings have elevators or ramps for access. Golf carts will circulate on campus for those requiring assistance. In our major event spaces (Chapel, Gym, Fieldhouse, Mairs Concert Hall, etc.) we will use microphones. Assistive listening devices will also be available, and our gym events will offer streamtext live captioning. All gender restrooms are available onsite. Certain accommodations such as ASL interpreters require additional time to arrange. If you need an ASL interpreter, we ask that you submit this request two-weeks prior to the event to ensure we can make arrangements . Please let us know of any other accessibility requests with your registration.

Parking on Campus

  • Parking lots are open for alumni parking across campus. Please follow posted signage. Street parking is also available on most residential neighborhood streets. Make sure to check for posted city parking signage when parking in neighborhood streets. Please note that we are not able to accommodate RV parking on campus.

For ADA needs, please view the Macalester Accessibility Parking Map

Bring clothes you can layer as necessary.

Weather

  • Rain Plans

In case of heavy rain, outdoor activities will move to their designated rain plan locations as listed in the final reunion schedule. However, some events that occur in the outdoor tent may be moved to an indoor location or canceled due to severe weather (lightning, high winds, tornado watch or warning, extreme heat, etc.).

Keep up to date with the weather for St. Paul here.

Need a Ride?

  • Alumni Taxis

Golf carts, a.k.a. “alumni taxis,” will be available all weekend to help alumni get around on campus. Signs will be posted letting individuals know where they can wait to be picked up or they can just flag down one of the many carts that will be driving around campus looking for anyone who may need a ride.
